 DESCRIPTION 

The storyline of Far Cry 5: Gold Edition is the same as the standard edition of Far Cry 5. The Gold Edition simply includes the base game, the Digital Deluxe Pack, and the Season Pass, which provides access to additional DLC content and Far Cry 3 Classic Edition.

You play as an unnamed junior deputy sheriff (referred to as "the Deputy") who is part of a task force sent to Hope County, Montana, to arrest Joseph Seed, the charismatic leader of a dangerous doomsday cult called Project at Eden's Gate.

Here's a breakdown of the main plot points:

• The Arrest Attempt: The task force, consisting of the Deputy, the Sheriff, two other deputies, and a U.S. Marshal, arrives in Hope County to serve an arrest warrant on Joseph Seed at his church.

• "God Will Not Let You Take Me": Joseph Seed calmly allows himself to be handcuffed, but as the task force attempts to leave via helicopter, Seed's heavily armed followers ambush them, causing the helicopter to crash.

• Stranded and Under Siege: The Deputy escapes the crash but becomes stranded in Hope County, which is entirely controlled by Eden's Gate and the Seed family. The dispatcher meant to call for backup is revealed to be a cult sympathizer, leaving the Deputy isolated.

• The Resistance: The Deputy is rescued by Dutch, a local survivalist, who rallies the scattered and oppressed residents of Hope County to form a resistance against the cult.

• Liberating Hope County: The game revolves around the Deputy working with various resistance members and factions across three regions of Hope County, each controlled by one of Joseph Seed's siblings, known as the Heralds:

  • John Seed ("The Baptist"): Controls the Holland Valley and uses brutal torture and forced confessions to indoctrinate people, making them "say yes" to the cult.

  • Faith Seed ("The Siren"): Oversees the Henbane River region and uses a powerful psychoactive drug called "Bliss" to control followers and create hallucinatory "angels."

  • Jacob Seed ("The Soldier"): Commands the Whitetail Mountains and employs brainwashing and conditioning techniques to turn captives into ruthless cult soldiers known as "Judges."

• Raising Resistance: In each region, the Deputy undertakes missions to disrupt the cult's operations, rescue hostages, and build a resistance force. As the "Resistance Meter" for each region fills, the Deputy faces increasing opposition from the Heralds and is eventually forced into confrontations with them.

• Joseph Seed's Philosophy: Throughout the game, Joseph Seed's sermons and actions reveal his belief that "The Collapse" – a global societal breakdown – is imminent, and only those who join Eden's Gate will be saved. He sees the Deputy and the resistance as obstacles to his divine plan.

• Multiple Endings: The game features multiple endings depending on the player's choices throughout the story, including a controversial secret ending early in the game. The main endings involve a final confrontation with Joseph Seed.

In essence, Far Cry 5's storyline is a fight for freedom against a fanatical cult in a remote American setting. The Deputy, with the help of the local resistance, must dismantle the Seed family's control over Hope County and confront their terrifying leader.
